APPLICATION MG1 is especially developed as hydrophobic surface coating for glass and ceramic substrates. MG1 forms, right after application, an invisible, highly hydrophobic protection layer on the substrate surface. MG1 protects against dirt, minimizes the formation of microorganisms (moss, algae and mould) and generates a self-cleaning effect in combination with water contact.
Typical applications for MG1 are surfaces like:
dirt-repellent coating for window glass, glass-facade elements and glass winter-gardens
glass-coating for vehicles
easy- to-clean coating for ceramics and enamel
sanitary ceramics, shower units and glazed tiles
solar and photovoltaik modules made of glass
PRODUCT APPLICATION AND TOOLS MG1 is supplied ready-to-use. Depending on the substrate MG1 can be applied with microfiber applicators or paint rollers (microfiber-flocking). The product is also suitable for spray application.

AVAILABLE CONTAINERS Article Number: Container size: 11500100 1 L 11532000 20 L
CONDITION SUBSTRATE The substrate to be coated must be clean, grease-free, free of cleaning agent residues and absolutely dry. MG1 must be applied at an ambient and substrate temperature between +5°C and 25°C. MG1 is applied undiluted.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE The product should be applied by trained personnel only. Test on a small area or apply a test coat before application. Please check the MG1 material compatibility and resistance of the substrate to be treated in advance of application.
PROCESSING AND CURING MG1 must be applied at an ambient temperature of at least + 5 °C and a relative humidity of 30%-80%. Avoid formation of aerosols, do not inhale aerosols and take appropriate precautions (including respiratory protection). Avoid direct sunlight!
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET Apply the coating in dry conditions and never in rain. The application occurs by wiping up with a suitable microfibre cloth. The coverage per litre is 50m²-80m² (application-specific) and is supplied ready to use. During application, only small quantities should be decanted from the original container into the application container. Residues of unused MG1 should not be returned from the application container to the original container. The coating is applied thin and evenly. MG1 forms a greyish fog on the surface, right after saturation of the substrate. If required apply another coating layer as described above. Then allow the surface to dry for 2-3 minutes. Dried product residues (greyish fog) can be easily removed with a clean water soaked sponge. The hydrophobic effect sets in immediately right after cleaning. After that, the curing period (chemical cross- linking) takes about 1-2 hours for optimal coating properties. The recommended curing conditions (until water resistant) are: Room temperature: 8–12 hours
CLEANING Surfaces coated with MG1 should be cleaned with cleaners in the pH range 3–12. Strong (mineral) acids or alkalis should be avoided and are also unnecessary as neutral cleaners are generally sufficient to surfaces coated with MG1.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS The instructions on the accompanying Safety Data Sheet must always be followed. Aerosols are generated when MG1 is sprayed. These can represent a potential hazard for humans. For this reason, MG1 may only be sprayed in closed systems or optimum extraction and good room ventilation must be provided to prevent the spread of aerosols in the working environment. The aerosols must not be inhaled. Keep ignition sources away - do not smoke. Take measures against electrostatic charge. Vapors may form an explosive mixture with air.
